Management and Administration The founder of TASO - Dr. Noerine Kaleeba - is the Patron. Board of Trustees (BOT): This is a body of Volunteers periodically elected by the General Assembly of members. It provides the policy direction of the whole organization in addition to appointing and supervising the Executive Director. There are also Regional Advisory Committes(RAC) and Centre Advisory Committees(CAC) which are bodies representing the board at regional and the center levels respectively.The RACs have the responsibility of guiding the four TASO Regions of Central, Eastern, western and Northen while the CACs provide oversight for the centre activities in the districts of operation These have the task of guiding the 11 operational branches in Soroti Mbale, Tororo, Jinja, Kampala, Entebbe, Masaka, Gulu, Masindi, Rukungiri and Mbarara. Currently the Board is composed of: Chairperson: Hon. MS. Juliet Tembe V. ChairPerson: Rev Willy Olango Hon. Treasurer: Mr. Stephen John Mugulisi Hon. Secretary: Mr. Okello Owor Members are: Mr. M. K. Lubega Hajji Katamba Serunjogi Mr. Ndawula Mutebi Sam Ms. Agnes Nyamayaro Regional Advisory Council (RAC) Representatives: Mr. Ssemanda Patrick (RAC Central Region) Dr. Muhweezi Yorum (RAC Western Region) DR. Namonyo Adrew (RAC Eastern Region) Dr. Nyakoojo Francis (RAC Northern Region Clients' Representatives: Ms. Nabudde Getrude Mr. Biryomumaisho Ignatius The Executive Director: Is the overall leader of the whole organization , and is assisted by two Deputy Executive Directors. S/he Implements the policy direction activities as approved by the Board. Manages and has the final say on: Human, physical and financial resources of the organization. He heads a team of 6 Heads of department who include:
TASO works in partnership with its clients and the views of People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLHA) are provided at all levels through client's councils at national and centre levels that meet regularly and give feedback to the board and management. In addition, representatives of PHA are given guaranteed seats at all levels of governance and indeed are given equal oppotunities as other people in recruitement of TASO staff. Back to Top |
