TASO Training Centre, one of the earliest and most comprehensive HIV/AIDS training institutes in Uganda, is pleased to announce a wide range of courses in HIV/AIDS care, support and management on offer in 2013.
There are over 10 Scheduled courses on offer in Medical, Psycho-social and Community care of HIV and AIDS and 21 courses with set curricula to be conducted on request. Besides, TASO Training Centre organizes a wide range of tailor-made and refresher courses for HIV and AIDS service provision. (See Course Calendar for Details)
The TASO curricula is built around the 25 years of practical work in care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS and are thus relevant to the a wide array of situations in resource limited settings.
Among the courses on offer in 2012 are courses run in collaboration with other strategic partners in HIV/AIDS training, notably, the Regional AIDS Training Network (RATN), for courses such as Child and Adolescent Counseling, Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health, ART Programme Managers Course and Training of Trainers in Community Care of HIV and AIDS.
TASO Training Courses are aimed at enhancing the capacity of service providers to render quality and comprehensive service to persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and AIDS. Therefore, individuals/organisations that are enrolled for these courses are those in service positions/organisations/institutions who will put to practice the knowledge and skills acquired within their work places.
To apply, one needs to complete and send the E-Application Form or Download the Hard Copy, fill out and sent to the address given. Use the RATN Application form for courses marked RATN under the course code and TASO Application form for all the other courses.
