Eastern Region

The region started on the 5th January 2004 to help Eastern Uganda (14 districts) intensify the services ofTASO.

Services

Among the services it offers, it aims at networking with other NGO's in the region, district leadership, and, different civil society on the best way to provide a meaningful product to the communities affected and infected with HIV I AIDS.

Through this, we collaborate with many organisations to carryout community initiatives, so that, we do not duplicate already provided services by other service providers. This enables us be partners with the districts in the implementation of community programs.

Weare mostly advocating for the people who are affected and infected with HIV I AIDS through our shared values of: Human dignity, Integrity, Equal rights and responsibilities, and Promotion of family spirit.

Eventually, the communities we work with; Get restored hope, learn new ways of life, learn new skills through training, and, improve on their knowledge. This embodies capacity building, which is key to positive living.

Location

The office block is now located on Plot 4 Namirundu road, in the heart of Mbale industrial area. It is staffed with Seven (7) staff, together with two volunteers. A Regional Manager, who coordinates all services together with a trainer, heads it. The remaining seven people are programming supporters i.e. secretary, driver, cleaner, security guard, research assistant, office attendant, and the accountant.

A new TASO Eastern Regional block is being constructed inside Mbale hospital. We hope that, we shall start a new year together with our colleagues of T ASO Mbale, in a new building.
